Library #3

Library Three- Community College

Harrisburg Area Community College http://www.hacc.edu/

I recently made a trip back north and had the opportunity to visit the new campus of the community college I had attended after highschool. The mission: "Harrisburg Area Community College is an accessible, affordable, high quality, comprehensive community college. The multi-campus college serves as a premier educational and workforce development institution. The presence of quality instruction and cutting edge technology, business and industry collaboration, and a learner-centered environment provides students the necessary knowledge skills and values to compete and excel in a global community." The library reflects this and sets an example by keeping abroad with current technologies and providing students with the best resources, while the collection was small it was adaquate for the campus size and there was a large collection of laptops that students can use on campus and ones that you can sign out. The library is mostly used by students and faculty as a quite space from the louder common areas, community members are welcome to view materials but student ID cards are required to check out items. Through the website students can access electronic reserves, databases,  and online journals.
